The point of the Point is to point to the Point. Get it?

I remember when I first started looking at attending PLNU four years ago. I visited the website and got several brochures in the mail, and one
thing I remember is seeing these plays on words about "Getting to the Point." Sure, it's kind of cheesy, but as I was thinking about what to title the blog, I thought to myself, "well, what's the point of this blog?" And I think it's all about helping you to get to know what life is like at PLNU and in San Diego, from the perspective of students like myself - the point is to get you to know The Point.

So as hokey as it may sound, this is what I want to do with my blog. I want to show you about life at PLNU through my eyes and my experiences here. I think it's cool that we have 8 different student bloggers, because there are so many things happening on this campus that there's no way any of us could cover them all by ourselves.

I live in Flex Housing, which looks like this if you're looking down from Fermanian Business Center:The photo of me on the PLNU blogger site is the view from my balcony. Yes, not only can we watch sunsets from our balcony, we can even watch soccer and baseball games. I can also make sure the Tennis courts are open before I walk over to play, and can throw water balloons at cars as they drive by on the road below. Of course, I am a mature senior college student and would never dream of doing such childish and unlawful things.

So as a last note, you may have noticed the video of the week feature on the left. I'm really excited about this and will try to dig up some quality YouTube material for your viewing pleasure. The first video of the year is one I happen to be included in - Nazbo Rap II. My extremely talented friend, Blake Nelson, wrote and directed both of these music videos, and I was fortunate enough to be asked to participate. Check it out, because most of the footage is straight off the streets of Loma
land. (Note: Just in case it's not clear, the video is a parody! We are poking fun at some Nazarene stereotypes. Most people on campus, with the exception of that one really creepy guy I try to avoid, don't actually look and talk like this).

Thanks for checking out the blog. Drop a comment letting me know you stopped by, and be sure to include anything you especially want to know or want to see from the blog this year!

Let me be the first to say your blog looks and reads great and we'll enjoy checking it out. The only part that has us concerned is the line about "San Diego being my real home"....does that mean we should ship all this furniture/pool table, etc we're storing for you here in OKC?

Proud of and love you,

Dad

Looks like your blog was posted a little after midnight-staying up late just like a true college student!
Great first post and I can't wait to read more about life out in San Diego. Way to go, bro!
